A simple, skin‑friendly perfume oil you can create in minutes.
Roll‑on perfumes are portable, long‑lasting, and easy to customize — perfect for gifting, selling, or adding to your daily ritual. This recipe uses a blend of nourishing carrier oils, Vitamin E, and a skin‑safe fragrance oil to create a perfume that feels luxurious without being complicated.
This formula is designed for a 10 g (approximately 10 ml) roll‑on perfume and works beautifully with our Elia Glass Roll‑On Bottles a favourite among creators making perfume, aromatherapy blends, and wellness products.

- Vitamin E Oil (INCI: Alpha Tocopherol)
- Fragrance Oil (e.g., Almond Blossom + Tonka Cream, or your choice)

Important: Always reference the IFRA Certificate (Category 4) for your chosen fragrance oil to confirm it is skin safe and that this recipe conforms with the IFRA maximum concentration levels.
Recipe & Weight Calculations (10 g total)
These are the exact ratios and gram weights used in our tested formula:
- 37% Jojoba Oil → 3.7 g
- 47% Fractionated Coconut Oil → 4.7 g
- 15% Fragrance Oil → 1.5 g
- 1% Vitamin E Oil → 0.1 g
How to Make It
1. Weigh your ingredients
Place your glass beaker on the scale and tare to zero.
Add 3.7 g Jojoba Oil.
Tare to zero again.
Add 4.7 g Fractionated Coconut Oil.
Tare to zero again.
Add 1.5 g Fragrance Oil.
Tare to zero again.
Add 0.1 g Vitamin E Oil.
Taring after each addition ensures accurate measurements and reduces the risk of error — especially important when formulating leave‑on products like perfumes.
2. Mix gently
Stir slowly with a clean glass stir rod until the blend looks uniform.
3. Bottle your perfume
Use a pipette or small funnel to transfer the mixture into your 10 ml roll‑on bottle.
Insert the rollerball fitment and press it firmly into place.
Add the cap and close tightly.
4. Let it rest
Allow the perfume to sit for 24–48 hours so the fragrance can settle and fully develop.
Safety Notes
- Always patch‑test before full use.
- Avoid applying to broken or irritated skin.
- Verify IFRA Category 4 maximum usage rates for every fragrance oil you use.
- Keep out of reach of children and pets.
Understanding Your Ingredients
This recipe is a great starting point, and you can adjust it over time to suit your preferred scent strength and skin feel. If you’d like a more potent fragrance, you can increase the fragrance oil percentage — as long as you stay within the IFRA Category 4 maximum concentration level for your specific fragrance oil. Any adjustments to the carrier oils should be tested thoroughly before selling. We have not tested changes to the Vitamin E percentage.
Fractionated Coconut Oil (FCO)
Fractionated coconut oil is a lightweight, fast‑absorbing carrier oil that feels silky on the skin without clogging pores. It creates a smooth, non‑greasy base that works beautifully for roll‑on perfumes and other leave‑on formulations.
Jojoba Oil
Jojoba oil is odorless, colourless, and hypoallergenic. As a humectant, it helps attract moisture to the skin while absorbing quickly and leaving a soft, conditioned feel. It adds a luxurious glide to roll‑on perfumes, which is why we highly recommend it in this formula.
Alternative Carrier Oils
If you’d like to experiment, other carrier oils can be used in place of jojoba oil — but these alternatives have not been tested with this recipe’s ratios, and any modifications should be tested by you before selling. Options to explore include:
- Grapeseed oil
- Almond oil
- Camellia oil
Each oil will change the texture, absorption rate, and overall feel of the perfume.
Vitamin E Oil
Vitamin E is a powerful antioxidant that supports skin softness, moisture retention, and protection from environmental stressors. It can help extend the shelf life of oils by slowing the onset of rancidity — but it is not a preservative and does not prevent microbial growth.
